San Francisco: The St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church in San
Francisco Bay Area is celebrating the feast of the Assumption of St.
Mary on August 15th (Saturday). Fr. Sabu Thomas, Fr. Thomas Kora
and, Fr. Youhanna Salamah will lead the celebrations.
On August 15th morning, the Holy Qurbono will begin at 9:00 AM,
procession at 11:30 AM, benediction, followed by offering and

Seminary, Rome .
He got 91% mark for the same.
Now he posses the charges of President of St. Peter's & St. Paul's
Jacobite Syrian Congregation in Rome & General Secretary of European
Union Oriental orthodox Theological forum. He has written almost 7
books in English, Malayalam & Italian. Also he has translated
daily prayer book of Syrian Orthodox Church to Italian.
Now he is doing PhD. in Church History at Pontifical Oriental
University.

is planning to build a “Conference-cum-Retreat” center at Anikkadu,
Mallappally named Gregorian Mount Center under the leadership of
H.G.Dr.Geevarghese Mor Coorilos Metropolitan.
This piece of land (about 2.5
acres) on a serene hill top has been donated to Niranam diocese by
Mr. Varghese Philip, Mr. Oommen Varghese and Mr. Joseph Varghese of
the Vadakkedathu family of Puramattam Jacobite Syrian Church. This
dream project will be an ideal place for our Youth & Church
Organizations to hold Annual conference, retreats & leadership camps
etc. Please keep this project in your prayers.

visited the relief camps at Mothakkara & Mathandy near Manathavady on
17th July 2009 and Meenangadi Camp on 18th July 2009 of rain-ravaged
Wayanad district along with diocesan office bearers, Volunteers of
Phoenix Relief Fund, Cheengeri and activists of "Malabar Badrasana
Samrakshana Samithy".
Metropolitan
distributed basic amenities including bed sheets, blankets, mats and
clothes to the people in relief camps. Panchayath Presidents of
Mananthavady and Meenangadi, Police Officers and Revenue Department
Officials accompanied metropolitan.

H.E's visa related matters was handled by
a lawyer who has been dealing with it from 2004. But
unfortunately he forget to renew it and by that time dead line
was over. So as per the legal advise he came back to india to
renew the Visa.
Now he got his visa renewed and is back to US . This being the
fact "Metran Kakshi" publication few months back came with some
baseless news to confuse our people.
