Apology for posting a news related to a person who is acting against
the
Holy
Church
We regret to inform you that we carried a news regarding the jubilee
celebrations of one Fr. Eldhose Koungumpillil who resides in UK. We
have learned from our Church leadership that Fr. Eldhose
Koungumpillil is currently under suspension.
Fr. Eldhose has been suspended by the Patriarchal Vicar for UK, Mor
Coorilos Geevarghese Metropolitan with the permission of the
Patriarch. Fr. Eldhose has been apparently involved in anti-church
activities in the UK for quite some time and for this reason, he has
been suspended from functioning as priest in our church in the UK..
It is now clear that even after his suspension he is continuing with
his anti-church activities in the UK.
Our Catholica Bava thirumeni, through a kalpana, has recently warned
him about his anti-church activities and also ordered him not to use
any of Bava’s pictures anywhere because by using pictures of him
together with Bava and other bishops and dignitaries, he is trying
to misguide people that he is still an active priest in the Church.
We understand that he is being supported by the “methran kakshi”
people in the UK.
Fr. Eldhose was also suspended by Mor Gregorios Joseph a few years
back, when His Eminence was in charge of UK and Europe for the same
reasons of non co-operation with the church authorities and of
serious lack of discipline. He was later reinstated in the Church
after apologising to Mor Gregorios Joseph. It appears that Fr.
Eldhose is repeating the same mistake again. When we came to know
about these facts, we have immediately withdrawn the news item
regarding Fr. Eldhose from our websites. Once again we apologize to
our readers for posting that news which may have created some
confusion among the minds of our faithful. Let us all be vigilant
against such ‘priests’ and false prophets who collaborate with the
dissident “methran kakshi” faction and try to divide our church.
A
new chapel in the name of St. Gregorios of Parumala at Kazhakuttam,
Thiruvananthapuram
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
A new chapel in the name of St. Gregorios of Parumala has been
started at Kazhakuttam, Thiruvananthapuram close to Techno park. The
first Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Siby Joseph, Vicar St.
Peter's JSS Cathedral Thiruvananthapuram. The Holy Mass was attended
by Rev. Fr. Abraham Kattathara, Vicar St. Mary's JSS Church, Rev.
Dn. Dr. Paul Samuel and Rev. Dn. Bennet Kuriakose. Trustee Mr. M.
Samuel, Secretary Mr. Reji Abraham and other committee members were
also present.
This is the second in a row of newly formed congregation chapel
under the initiative of St. Peters JSS Cathedral. The chapel is now
functioning in a rented building owned by a Muslim person who is
giving it for the first time. The inauguration of the chapel
coincided on the Eid day of Ramzan which is important for the
Muslim population.
The chapel is situated at the bypass junction of Kazhakuttam and is
barely half kilometre to Techno park. It is near the main road side
and is on the second floor of the building. Hundreds of faithful
attended the Holy Mass and received blessings. Holy Mass will be on
every third Saturday of the month at 7.15 AM.

Christian Unity. The Order of

NEW YORK: St. Mary’s Syrian
Orthodox Church of White Plains,
popularly known as
the Manarcad Church of North America, became a fort of
comfort for many faithful again this year during the observation of
ETTU NOMBU PERUNNAL. The Holy Lent in conjunction with the
birthday of St.Mary, Mother of God, resumed on August 30th with
the celebration of Holy Eucharist by
Rev.Fr.Dileesh Alias, the Vicar of this only Syrian Orthodox
Parish in Westchester County, New York. During the days of the
lent, meditation, Gospel Service, Holy Confession, Prayer for
healing the sick etc., were among many items.

Pachilakattu, Rev.Fr.Varghese Marunninal, Rev.Fr.Gevarghese Thomas
Chattathil and Rev.Dn.Benny John Chirayil were the main Gospel
speakers. Each day of lent was sponsored individually by many
members of this famous parish. Hundreds of faithful have attended
the Holy Service on September 6, 2009, the final day of the lent
seeking the intercession of the Holy Mother with their offerings.
The day ended with a public meeting and a feast of fellowship.
While praising God for all blessings, the Vicar appreciated all
parishioners and other faithful for their sincere support. At the
meeting winners of the Regional Sunday School Competition were
congratulated, awarded gifts and certificates of achievement. This
year’s ETTU NOMBU PERUNNAL ended with exuberant faith in the
Almighty
God.

Synod Decisions:
Indian Express KOCHI: The Jacobite Syrian
Church has decided to increase the number of metropolitans, dioceses
and churches under it. The decision was taken at a meeting on
`Working and Managing Committees’ held at the Puthencruz Patriarch
Cathedral.
Talking to newsmen, Jacobite Church spokesperson Fr Varghese
Kallappara said that the decision to launch more dioceses and
appoint more metropolitans was taken following the completion of the
globalization of the Church.
At the meeting, it was also decided to include former Metropolitan
Paulose Mar Athanasius, considered to be the second most important
saint in the hierarchy of Malankara saints, in the group of `Saints
of Canon’.
At the meeting, there was a general demand by the participants to
the State Government to take steps to open the Thrikkunnath Seminary
for the centenary celebration of the consecration of Paulose Mar
Athanasius.
“Catholicos Baselious Thomas-I will offer prayer at the seminary
from December 2009 to January 2006,” Fr Kallappara said. The 81st
birthday of the Catholicos was also celebrated at the meeting, at
which Fisheries Minister S Sarma and Transport Minister Jose
Thettayil were present.
