today in front of the tomb.
"Metran
Kakshi" is trying all the ways to hide their
frustration... Few of their leaders were speaking
out as if they were present with H.B bava during the
Kurbana. All were trying their best to get maximum
votes in the upcoming elections. Unofficial "Niyukthan"
of the metran kakshi church was pointing out that
H.B Bava didnt carry any "Kasa & Peelasa". If
he knows what is "Kasa & Peelasa" he can see
above photo to clarify his doubt. It was nice to see
the way all duplicates talking authoritively about
Syrian Orthodox liturgy as if it was written by
them.

Thomas 1st Catholicos was given tremendous welcome
after the Holy Mass at Thrikkunath Church.The newly
ordained metropolitans were also given a conjoint
rousing reception from St. Athansios Study Center (
Office of Angamaly Region of Angamaly Diocese) to
MASS( Mar Athansios Service Society) Hall. Rasa was
attendend by hundreds of faithfuls, deacons and
students of MSOT seminary, Sisters from Puthencuriz
covent. H.G Mathews Mor Antheemos blessed the
processions and offered prayers at various crosses.

POOTHAMKUTTY/ANGAMALY: Under
the auspices of St.Mary’s Youth Association, Poothamkutty youth
empowerment programme was held at the Church premises on Sunday, the
29th January, 2012 after the Holy Qurbana. Mr.Delvin, the
Secretary of the Youth association welcomed the gathering. Vicar
Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal made the key-note address. Mr.T.M.Yakob,
Poly, Joly, Eldhose P.P, and Basil actively partaken in the business
session. The youth Group headed by the Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe
Parackal visited houses of the members and conducted prayer meeting
at the residence of Mr. Mathai Munnoorppilly in the evening.
Hereafter, fifth Sunday will be observed as ‘Youth Sunday’ and the
members unanimously resolved to pay visit to the residences of the
parish members who are residing far away from the church area. New
office-bearers for the year 2012 were elected in the meeting.

Celebrated the 63rd Republic Day on 26th
January 2012 at the School premises. The Chief Guest on the
occasion was Mr P. C Sharma, Dist Congress Committee President who
hoisted the National Flag. Fr. Eldo John Chemmikkattu, Vicar &
Director of the school, Mr K.C Mathew- Manager, Mr Thomas Chacko-
Secretary, Mrs Annie Biju - Principal of the school graced the
occasion. The students showcased their talents by presenting
patriotic songs. The rank holders of the academic session 2010-11
were given prizes by the dignitaries. Parents and Parish members
witnessed this graceful event. Programme concluded with sweet
distribution.

കോളേജിലെ നേഴ്സുമാര് അനിശ്ചിതകാല സമരം ആരംഭിച്ചു. സേവന വേതന
വ്യവസ്ഥകള് മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തണമെന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ടാണ് സമരം
ചെയ്യുന്നത് . 500 ഓളം നേഴ്സുമാരാണ് സമരം ചെയ്യുന്നത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ
ദിവസങ്ങളില് മാനേജ്മെന്റുമായി നടത്തിയ ചര്ച്ചകള് വിജയം
കാണാത്തതാണ് സമരത്തിനു വഴിവെച്ചത്. ആവശ്യം അന്ഗീകരിച്ചില്ലങ്കില്
നിരാഹാര സമരം നടത്തുമെന്ന് നേഴ്സുമാര് പറഞ്ഞു. നേരത്തെ സംഘടനാ
രൂപീകരണവുമായി ബന്ധപെട്ടു ആശുപത്രി അതികൃതര് നേഴ്സുമാരെ തടഞ്ഞു
വെച്ച സംഭവവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

Committee finalizes the New Mission Statement
Geneva: The Executive Committee
of the Commission on World Mission and Evangelism which met at
Bossey Ecumenical Institute in Geneva from 20-23 January 2012
finalized the New Mission and Evangelism Statement of the World
Council of Churches. The draft will be presented to the Pre-Assembly
Mission Event in Manila in March and then to the Central Committee
of the WCC, to be held in Crete in August. Mor Coorilos Geevarghese,
moderator of the CWME chaired the meeting.

തറക്കല്ലിട്ടു. വൈക്കോല്മേഞ്ഞ ഷെഡ് നിര്മിച്ച് 16
പേരടങ്ങിയ സമിതിയും രൂപവത്കരിച്ചു. പിന്നീട് കുടകുത്തി,
പഴുക്കാമറ്റം, ശ്രാപ്പിള്ളി, ഗിരിമുകള് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്
ചാപ്പലുകള് സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. 2007 ജനവരിയില് പുതിയ പള്ളി
കൂദാശചെയ്തു.

The Feast of Mor Ignatius Alias III entombed at Manjanikkara
Dayaro and the observation of first Saturday will be held at
St.Mary’s JSO
Church, Poothamkutty on 4th&5th
February, 2012. On Saturday, the 4th February, Holy
Qurbana will be held at 8.15 a.m. followed by special
intercessory prayers at the Holy Soonoro (Girdle) of St.Mary,
the Mother of God. Soon after the procession and distribution of
Pachor nercha, perunnal flag will be hoisted by Rev.Fr.Alias Ipe
Parackal, the vicar, marking the beginning of Manjanikkara
perunnal. On the perunnal day, Holy Qurbana will be held at 8.15
am followed by mediatory prayer with incense, perunnal message,
and distribution of Nercha. Rev.Fr.Alias Ipe Parackal will be
the chief officiate.

യാക്കോബായ സഭയുടെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ കാതോലിക്ക ബസേലിയോസ് തോമസ് പ്രഥമന്
ബാവ കുര്ബാനയര്പ്പിച്ചു.പള്ളിയുടെ കബര്മുറിയിലാണ് ബാവ പ്രവേശിച്ച് കുര്ബാന അര്പ്പിച്ചത്.
34 വര്ഷത്തിനുശേഷമാണ് ഇവിടെ കുര്ബാന നടക്കുന്നത്. എപ്പിസ്കോപ്പല്
സുന്നഹദോസ് സെക്രട്ടറി ഡോ. ജോസഫ് മോര് ഗ്രിഗോറിയോസ്, അങ്കമാലി
ഭദ്രാസന സഹായ മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്ത ഡോ. ഏബ്രഹാം മോര് സേവേറിയോസ്,
ഇടവകാംഗം കൂടിയായ ഡോ. മാത്യൂസ് മോര് അന്തീമോസ് എന്നിവരും കുര്ബാനയില്
സംബന്ധിച്ചു. തനിക്ക് അനുവദിച്ച സമയത്ത് താന് കുര്ബാന അര്പ്പിച്ചതായി
ശ്രേഷ്ഠ കാതോലിക്കാ ബാവാ പറഞ്ഞു. വൈകിട്ട് 4.20 കബര്മുറിയില്
പ്രവേശിച്ച ബാവയും സംഘവും 4.42 നാണ് പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയത്. ബാവ
അനുവദിച്ചതിലും കൂടുതല് സമയം പ്രാര്ഥന നടത്തിയതായി പോലീസ് അധികൃതര്
സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു. 13 മിനിറ്റാണ് പ്രാര്ഥനയ്ക്കായി അനുവദിച്ചിരുന്നത്.
പ്രാര്ഥന നടത്താന് മാത്രമാണ് അനുമതി നല്കിയിരുന്നതെന്ന് പോലീസ്
അധികൃതര് വ്യക്തമാക്കി. എന്നാല് തങ്ങള്ക്ക് അനുവദിക്കപ്പെട്ട
ആരാധനാസമയത്ത് കുര്ബാന നടത്തുന്നതിനെ ഒരു കോടതിയും
വിലക്കിയിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് യാക്കോബായ സഭാ എപ്പിസ്കോപ്പല് സുന്നഹദോസ്
സെക്രട്ടറി ജോസഫ് മോര് ഗ്രിഗോറിയോസ് പറഞ്ഞു. കുര്ബാനയ്ക്കുള്ള
പ്രധാന ഉപകരണമായ തബലൈത്താ പലകയില് കാസയും പിലാസയും സമര്പ്പിച്ചാണ്
ക്രമപ്രകാരം 20 മിനിറ്റുകൊണ്ട് പൂര്ത്തിയാക്കാവുന്ന സുറിയാനിക്രമം
ചൊല്ലി പൂര്ത്തീകരിച്ചത്. കുര്ബാന ചൊല്ലാന് അധികൃതര് അനുമതി നല്കുമെന്ന
പ്രതീക്ഷയില് ആലുവ മാസ് ഹാളില് ഇന്നലെ രാവിലെ മുതല് ബാവ
ഉപവാസത്തിലായിരുന്നു. കുര്ബാനയുടെ പ്രാരംഭഘട്ടം മാസ് ഹാളില് പൂര്ത്തീകരിച്ചശേഷമാണ്
ബാവ തൃക്കുന്നത്ത് പള്ളിയിലെത്തിയത്
കറുത്ത കുപ്പായമണിഞ്ഞ് കബര്മുറിയില് പ്രവേശിച്ചശേഷം അവിടെവച്ച് കുര്ബാനയ്ക്കായി
കാപ്പ ഉള്പ്പെടെയുള്ള അംശവസ്ത്രങ്ങള് അണിയുകയായിരുന്നു. ഈ
സമയത്തൊന്നും പോലീസ് തടഞ്ഞില്ല. കഴിഞ്ഞ വര്ഷം വൈകിട്ട് 4.50 നാണ്
ബാവ പള്ളിയില് കയറിയതെങ്കില് ഇത്തവണ 4.20 മുതല് സമയം അനുവദിച്ചത്.
ഇതുമൂലം ബാവയ്ക്ക് കുര്ബാന നടത്താന് വേണ്ടത്ര സമയം ലഭിച്ചു. ബാവ
പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയശേഷം പോലീസ് ഗേറ്റ് പൂട്ടി. കഴിഞ്ഞ അഞ്ചുവര്ഷമായി
പള്ളിയിലെ കബറില് പ്രാര്ഥിക്കാന് അനുമതി കിട്ടിയിരുന്നെങ്കിലും കുര്ബാനയ്ക്ക്
അവസരം ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. വൈകിട്ട് മാസ് ഹാളില് യാക്കോബായ വിഭാഗം
നവാഭിഷിക്തരായ മെത്രാന്മാര്ക്ക് സ്വീകരണം നല്കി. രാവിലെ നടന്ന
സുന്നഹദോസില് 31 മെത്രാന്മാര് സംബന്ധിച്ചു.

പളളിയുടെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തില് ഇടവക സംഗമവും, കുടുംബയൂണിറ്റുകളുടെ
റാലിയും നടത്തി. പെരുവംമുഴി കവലയില് നിന്നും ആയിരങ്ങള്
പങ്കെടുത്ത റാലിയില് നിശ്ചല ദൃശ്യങ്ങളുടേയും,
വാദ്യമേളങ്ങളുടേയും അകമ്പടിയോടെ ആരംഭിച്ച റാലി ഇടവക സംഗമ സ്ഥലമായ
ബസേലിയോസ് പൗലോസ് ദ്വിതീയന് നഗറില് സമാപിച്ചു. തുടര്ന്ന്
നടന്ന സമ്മേളനം വി.പി. സജീന്ദ്രന് എം.എല്.എ. ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു.
വികാരി ഫാ. ജോര്ജ് കളപ്പുരയില് അദ്ധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു.

ക്രമീകരണങ്ങള് ഏര്പ്പെടുത്തി. ജില്ലാ കളക്ടര് ഷേയ്ക് പരീതിന്റെ
നേതൃത്വത്തിലാണ് സുരക്ഷാക്രമീകരണങ്ങള് നടത്തിയത്.ബുധനാഴ്ച
രാവിലെ ഏഴു മുതല് 11 വരെ ഓര്ത്തഡോക്സ് പക്ഷത്തിനും ഒന്നു മുതല്
അഞ്ചുവരെ യാക്കോബായ വിഭാഗത്തിനും ആരാധന നടത്തുന്നതിനുള്ള
ക്രമീകരണങ്ങളാണ് നടത്തിയിട്ടുള്ളത്. പത്തു വിശ്വാസികളുടെ
സംഘത്തെയാണ് കടത്തിവിടുക. ഈ രീതിയില് കടത്തിവിടുന്നതിനായുള്ള
കമ്പിവേലിയുടെ നിര്മാണം പള്ളിമുറ്റത്ത് നടക്കുകയാണ്. ഇതിനു
ചെലവാകുന്ന അഞ്ച് ലക്ഷം രൂപ ഇരുസഭയും പങ്കുവയ്ക്കും.കളക്ടറുടെ

നടക്കുമെന്ന് ഫാ. പൗലോസ് ഞാറ്റുകാലായില്, കെ.പി. പൈലി എന്നിവര്
അറിയിച്ചു. കുടുംബസംഗമത്തിന് മുന്നോടിയായിട്ടുള്ള വിളംബര ഘോഷയാത്ര

Vicar to Oman Mor Theodosius Mathews visited Muscat and
celebrated the Holy Qurbana at St. Mary’s Syrian Orthodox Church
Muscat. Mor Theodosius Mathew was given a warm welcome at the
Seeb International Airport and later at the church in the leadership
of Muscat Diocese. Lots of faithful participated in the Holy Mass
and the function held there after.

The Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Mor
Gregorios Sunday School, Thuruthissery were formally inaugurated
by Dr. Athanasius Alias Metropolitan of Antiochean Movement on
Friday, the 20th January, 2010. “The contributions of Mor
Gregorios Sunday School are highly commendable as it could give
birth to a bishop and two priests from Thuruthissery” Dr.
Athanasius said. Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal, the Ex-Vicar and
Director of the Youth Mission Desk of the Angamaly region of the
Church, presided over the Function. In his presidential address,
Rev Fr. Alias Ipe appreciated and recalled the sterling
contributions of Sunday school teachers who have completed 60
years and 25 glorious years in His vineyard. The Silver jubilee
Celebrations consist of number of colourful events including
construction of a home for financially deprived. The one-year
long celebrations will be culminated next January. Sri. Anwar
Sadath M.L.A, P.I.Varghese, Johnson Varghese, Chev. George
Thruthiyil, and P.P.Kuriachen spoke on the occasion. Annual
reports of the spiritual organisations of the parish were
presented followed by various cultural items and prize
distribution.

Clergy Meet in Teaneck, NJ
NEW JERSEY:
On Tuesday,
January 17, members of the Standing Conference of the Oriental
Orthodox Churches met at the Archdiocesan offices in Teaneck, NJ
for their biannual meeting. His Eminence Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim
welcomed the participant hierarchs and clergy on behalf of
Eastern Archdiocese. His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Barsamian,
Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church, chaired
the meeting the meeting was also attended by His Eminence
Archbishop Mor Titus Eldho, of the Malankara Archdiocese of the
Syrian Orthodox Church and His Eminence Archbishop Vicken
Aykazian, the Ecumenical Director of the Eastern Diocese of the
Armenian Church, as well as, clergy representing the Coptic and
the Ethiopian Orthodox Churches. The meeting began with a short
morning prayer. Discussion topics included plans being made for
a youth retreat to be hosted by the Syrian Orthodox Church and
possible daylong regional meetings of Oriental Orthodox clergy.
Participants also spoke about their respective Christian
education programs and reviewed the Oriental Orthodox
Concelebration of the Divine Liturgy held last November at the
Coptic Orthodox Church of Archangel Michael and St. Mena in
Staten Island, NY. Next year’s concelebration will be hosted by
St. Leon Armenian Church of Fair Lawn, NJ. Archbishop Vicken
Aykazian, the Eastern Diocese’s Ecumenical Director, and
Archbishop Karim spoke about the participation of Oriental
Orthodox churches in the Christian Churches Together
organization and presented updates on the ongoing dialogue with
the Roman Catholic Church. Turning to developments overseas,
participants discussed the situation of Copts in Egypt and
Christians in Syria. The Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Findikyan gave a
presentation on the new website of the Standing Conference of

Irapuram celebrated Holy Qurbana assisted by Rev.Fr.Alias Ipe

started the 100th Birthday Celebrations of Malankara
Malphono of Syrian Orthodox Church, Very. Rev. Dr. Kurian
Corepiscopa Kaniyamparambil on 13th January 2012 with
the event, Deshno d’Malphono (meaning Gurudakshina or
tribute to the teacher).The Patriarchal Vicar of Mor Ignatius
Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Cathedral Dubai, HG Dr. Mathews Mor
Ivanios offered Holy Qurbono in Syriac, marking the launch of
the celebrations. An Olive sapling was planted by HG in the
church premises after the Holy Qurbono to commemorate the 100th
Birthday celebrations by MIYA Dubai. An exhibition of the books
and handwritten scripts by Very. Rev. Dr. Kurian Corepiscopa
Kaniyamparambil, was arranged by MIYA Dubai. The event was
inaugurated by HG Dr. Mathews Mor Ivanios, presided over by the
Vicar, Rev. Fr. Boby G Varghese. Rev. Fr. Binoy Thomas and Rev.
Fr. John Mathew were present for the event. A documentary based
on the biography of the Malankara Malphono was shown during the
event. A Syriac Music Competition was conducted in the UAE level
at HH Moran Mor Ignatius Zaka Iwas I Parish Hall in Mor Ignatius
Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Cathedral Dubai. All the participants
were presented books written & signed by Very. Rev. Dr. Kurian

Denmark:Ecumenical Christmas & New Year Celebrations in
Denmark.Denmark is one of the oldest continually existing
national states, tracing its kings and queens back to before the
9th century.Christianity came to Denmark around AD 825 when
Ansgar, a Benedictine monk from France, became apostle to the
North. Around AD 960 King Harald accepted Christianity as the
official religion in Denmark. Denmark is one of the few
countries that have a State Church - The Evangelical Lutheran
Church, of which about 85 percent of the 5.3 million population
are members. Danske Kirkers Rĺd (The National Council of
Churches in Denmark) is the largest ecumenical organization in
Denmark with membership of 15 churches and 44 religious
organizations. On 06/01/2012 Danske Kirkers Rĺd organized the
Ecumenical Christmas Service atVor Frue Kirke ( National Cathedral of
Denmark). The highlight of the service was the commemoration of
the three Magi bringing the gifts of gold, frankincense and
myrrh. Fr. Eldhose Vattaparambil represented Jacobite Syrian
Orthodox Church as one of the three Magi. There were Biblical
readings and messages by leaders of various churches from across
the world in various languages. At the end, everyone in the
congregation lit a candle at the center of the Church while Liya
Eldhose sang Malayalam devotional songs. The celebration

started with a Public Meeting presided over the Parish Vicar
Rev. Fr. Sajan T. John. Church Secretary, Mr. Johnson Varghese
welcomed the gathering and Rev. Fr. Immanuel Thomas of St.
Peter’s Knanaya Syrian Church officially inaugurated the program
and delivered Christmas Message. The Sunday School Head Master,
Mr. Saju Kuriakose presented the Sunday School Annual Report for
the year 2011.Mr. Jacob John, the Church Trustee proposed Vote
of Thanks. Mr. Shinosh Geevarghese, Ms. Sara Alex and Susan John
compeered the programs.The Sunday School children entertained
the audience with variety of colorful stage presentations of

NEDUMBASSERY: A warm reception was accorded to the newly
ordained metropolitans Dr. Mor Anthimos Mathews, Mor Julius Eliyas, Mor Alexandrios Thomas and Mor Polycarpus Zacharia, on
their arrival at Cochin International Airport on Monday, the
17th January 2012 morning by the Angamaly Region Metropolitan
Dr. Mor Severios Abraham, Dr. Mor Athanasius Eliyas and Rev.
Priests of the Diocese. On behalf of the clergy Association, Fr.
Alias Ipe Parackal, Fr. George Vayaliparambil, Fr. Sabu Parackal,
Fr. Jiby Yohannan, Fr. Yesudas and Fr. Mathai Kattumangattu
handed over bouquets. A multitude of faithful were there waiting
to receive the newly ordained bishops at the Airport. The
metropolitans were also given a warm welcome at the Mor Sabore
Afroth Jacobite Syrian Cathedral Valiyapally. Vicar V. Rev.
Titus Varghese Cor-episcopa and Fr. Geevarghese V. Areeckal, the
Asst. Vicar garlanded the Bishops.

ALUVA: Dr. Mor Anthimos Mathews offered evening
prayers at Thrikunnath St. Mary's Jacobite Syrian Church (
MASS Hall). Dr. Antheemos was welcomed to the church as a
vehicular procession from Patriarchal Center Puthencuriz to
Aluva. The prayers were attended by priests and hundreds of
faithful. A conjoined welcome to all the newly ordained

WCC Busan Assembly Unity Statement Working Group Meets in Geneva.
GENEVA: The Working
Group appointed by the General Secretary of the World Council of
Churches to draft the Statement on Unity for the next Assembly of WCC met at Bossey Ecumenical Institute in Switzerland from January
11-14, 2012. The first of a series of three meetings was moderated
by Dame Mary Tanner, one of the Presidents of WCC and coordinated by
Ms. Natasha Klukach, WCC Program Executive for Ecumenical Relations.
The working group, consisting of ten international theologians and
church leaders prepared a framework and identified the issues to be
dealt with in the Statement. The next meeting is scheduled to meet
in July this year.

KOTTAYAM: Holy Consecration
of the newly founded church at Arpookkara in the name of St. Thomas
the apostole, under Kottayam diocese completed. The ceremony was
presided over by Their Graces the Metropolitans Mor Thimothoes
Thomas (Kottayam), Mor Severios Kuraikose (Archbishop, Knanaya
Diocese), Mor Dionysius geevarghese (Manjinikkara Dayro), Mor
Ivanious Mathews (Kandanad), Mor Milithios Yuhanon (Thumpamon), Mor
Aphem Mathews (Angamaly High Range), Mor Osthatheos Ishaq (Mylapore)
and Mor Athonios Yaqub (Mangalore). The consecration ceremony ended
with Holy Qurbono today. The land where the church is built
admeasuring a total area of 1.70 acres was donated by Adv. P C
Abraham Thekkethattil. The parishioners of this church originally
belonged to the ancient Kallumkathra St. George Church (http://kallumkathrachurch.org/).
The church has a membership of 62 families.

വിലക്കുവാങ്ങിയ സ്ഥലത്ത് 1904 മെയ് 21ന് പള്ളിക്ക് തറക്കല്ലിട്ടു.
വൈക്കോല്മേഞ്ഞ ഷെഡ് നിര്മിച്ച് 16 പേരടങ്ങിയ സമിതിയും രൂപവത്കരിച്ചു.
പിന്നീട് കുടകുത്തി, പഴുക്കാമറ്റം, ശ്രാപ്പിള്ളി, ഗിരിമുകള്
എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില് ചാപ്പലുകള് സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. 2007 ജനവരിയില് പുതിയ പള്ളി

Soonoro Cathedral Sharjah on January 13th. Holy Tri Mass was held in
the Cathedral, which was lead by Mor Elias Yulios, Mor Alexentrinos
Thomas and Mor Polycarpose Zacharia. Bishops left for Damascus from
there to meet Holy father and to participate in the ordination of
Very Rev. Dr. Stephanos remban.

Youth Mission protested against the police Malevolence staged at
Kanyattunirappu.
ANGAMALY:
The Angamaly Region Youth Mission of the Angamaly Diocese of Jacobite
Syrian Christian Church strappingly criticized the police nastiness
staged at Kanyattunirappu against the guiltless Jacobite Syrian
Christian faithful. “We cannot corroborate the biased approach of
the state Police who are entrusted to keep the law and order. What
happened at Kanyattunirappu is wholly against the spirit of
religious tolerance and human hood. The Government should take apt
and swift steps against the culprits”-Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal,
the Regional Director for Youth Mission demanded to the Government
authorities. Furthermore, the Angamaly Region Youth Mission extended
full support to the timely measures of the Catholicose and prelates
who are in the fore-front, struggling hard to establish peace.
First Saturday observed at St. Mary's JSOC, Poothamkutty, Angamaly.
POOTHAMKUTTY/ANGAMALY:
The maiden observation of first Saturday in the year 2012 was held
on 7th January with fervour and piety at St.Mary’s Jacobite Syrian
Christian Church, Poothamkutty. The Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal
offered Holy Qurbana followed by special intercessory prayer to
St.Mary, Mother of God. As the church is blessed with the erection
of Holy relics of St.Mary (Girdle), every first Saturday is slated
to celebrate St. Mary’s feast. Special prayer for the needy, sick
and afflicted was also held during the Holy Qurbana. Hundreds of
faithful attended. Nercha was served to all present.

ആരാധനയ്ക്കായി പ്രസ്തുത സ്ഥലത്ത് പള്ളി പണിയാന് സഭാ
നേതൃത്വം തീരുമാനിച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്നാല് ഒരു വിഭാഗം
സംഘര്ഷാവസ്ഥ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചതിനെ തുടര്ന്ന് നിര്മ്മാണ
പ്രവര്ത്തനം നിരോധിച്ച കളക്ടറുടെ ഉത്തരവ്
ഹൈക്കോടതിയില് ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യുകയും തുടര്ന്ന് നിരോധനം
നിലവിലില്ലായെന്ന് കളക്ടര് കോടതിയെ
അറിയിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതുമാണ്. പിന്നീട് സ്ഥലത്തെ സമാധാന
അന്തരീക്ഷം നിലനിര്ത്തുന്നതിനായി പള്ളിനിര്മ്മാണം
ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് വൃദ്ധസദനം നിര്മ്മിക്കുന്നതായി കോടതിയില്
അപേക്ഷ നല്കുകയും നിര്മ്മാണത്തിനാവശ്യമായ നടപടി
സ്വീകരിക്കാനുള്ള കോടതി ഉത്തരവ് ജില്ലാ കളക്ടര്ക്ക്
നല്കിയിട്ടുള്ളതുമാണ്. ഇതേ തുടര്ന്ന്
ഗ്രാമപ്പഞ്ചായത്തിന്റെ അനുമതിയോടെ വൃദ്ധസദന നിര്മ്മാണം
ആരംഭിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. മറുവിഭാഗത്തിന്റെ സമ്മര്ദ്ദങ്ങള്ക്ക്
വഴങ്ങി നിര്മ്മാണ പ്രവര്ത്തനം തടയാനുള്ള പഞ്ചായത്ത്
നീക്കത്തിനെതിരെ കോടതിയെ സമീപിക്കുമെന്നും സഭാസ്ഥലത്ത്
അതിക്രമിച്ച് കയറി നാശനഷ്ടമുണ്ടാക്കിയവര്ക്കെതിരെ
നിയമ നടപടി സ്വീകരിക്കുമെന്നും മാര് കൂറിലോസ്

Diocesan Metropolitan H.G Pathrose Mor Osthatheos has been given a
warm welcome at Singapore Changi airport during his second visit to
St. Mary's JSO church, Singapore on Jan 12th. His Grace will be the
chief celebrant of the harvest festival on Jan 14 & 15. Vicar Rev.Fr.
Saji Nadumuriyil, Dn.Eldho Thomas and church officials were present
at the airport.

Second anniversary of Metropolitan Consecration of His
Grace Issac Mor Osthatheos was held at St.Mary’s JSO Church, Retteri,
Chennai on Wednesday, January 4th, 2012 organised by Mylapore
Diocese. It began with Holy Mass celebrated by H G Issac Mor
Osthatheos, followed by public function attended by priest and
members of parishes under Mylapore Diocese. Clergy Secretary
Rev.Fr.K J John Corepiscopa welcomed the gathering, followed by
facilitations by Fr.T M Mathews, Fr.Paul Varghese, Laity Secretary,
Mr.Valsalan P Varghese and vote of thanks by Diocese Secretary

deacons, council members and parish members for their contribution
and support rendered to the diocese in past two years for growth and

prayers towards construction of new office for Mylapore Diocese was
blessed by H G Issac Mor Osthatheos and attended by priest and
faithful. A book on songs of worship with daily prayers compiled and
edited by Mr.Thomas P Thomas, St.Marys JSO Church, Perambur was
released by H G Issac Mor Osthatheos.

തമ്മില് നിലവിലുള്ള തര്ക്കം പരിഹരിക്കുന്നതിന് ജില്ലാ കലക്ടര്
പി.ഐ. ഷെയ്ഖ് പരീത് വിളിച്ച ചര്ച്ച പരാജയപ്പെട്ടു. കഴിഞ്ഞവര്ഷം
ഹൈക്കോടതി നിര്ദേശപ്രകാരം പെരുന്നാള് നടത്തിയതുപോലെ ഇക്കൊല്ലവും
തുടരണമെന്ന് കലക്ടര് ഇരുവിഭാഗത്തെയും അറിയിച്ചു. തല്സ്ഥിതി
ലംഘിക്കാന് ഇരുവിഭാഗത്തെയും അനുവദിക്കില്ല. രണ്ടുകൂട്ടര്ക്കും
പെരുന്നാള്ദിവസമായ ജനുവരി 25നും 26നും അഞ്ചുമണിക്കൂര് വീതം പ്രാര്ഥനയ്ക്ക്
അവസരം നല്കും. വിശ്വാസികള്ക്ക് വന്ന് പ്രാര്ഥിച്ചുമടങ്ങാം. എന്നാല്
കുര്ബാന നടത്താന് കഴിഞ്ഞവര്ഷം അനുവദിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. ആ രീതി ഈ വര്ഷവും
തുടരണമെന്നത് സര്ക്കാരിന്റെ തീരുമാനമാണെന്നും അക്കാര്യം
ഇരുവിഭാഗത്തെയും അറിയിക്കുകയാണെന്നും കലക്ടര് യോഗത്തില് അറിയിച്ചു.
എതിര്പ്പുണ്ടെങ്കില് കോടതിയെ സമീപിക്കാം. എന്നാല് കലക്ടറുടെ
തീരുമാനം അംഗീകരിക്കാനാവില്ലെന്ന് യാക്കോബായ സഭ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. തങ്ങള്ക്കനുവദിച്ച
സമയത്ത് പള്ളിയില് പ്രവേശിച്ച് കുര്ബാന നടത്താന് അവസരം നല്കണം.
പ്രാര്ഥിക്കാന് അവസരം നല്കുമ്പോള് കുര്ബാന നിഷേധിക്കുന്നതു
നീതിയല്ല. കലക്ടറുടെ ഉത്തരവ് തങ്ങള് അംഗീകരിച്ചുവെന്ന വാദം ശരിയല്ല.
കലക്ടറുടെ തീരുമാനത്തിനെതിരേ ഹൈക്കോടതിയെ സമീപിക്കുമെന്നും യാക്കോബായ
സഭ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. കലക്ടറുടേത് ഏകപക്ഷീയ തീരുമാണെന്നും ഇതിനെതിരേ
ശ്രേഷ്ഠ കാതോലിക്കാ ബാവായുമായി ആലോചിച്ച് സമരം ആരംഭിക്കുമെന്നും അവര്
പറഞ്ഞു. യാക്കോബായ സഭയെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിച്ച് സെന്റ് മേരീസ് പള്ളി വികാരി
എല്ദോ ചക്യാട്ടില്, ട്രസ്റ്റി റെജി വര്ക്കി, എം.പി. ജോയ് എന്നിവര് പങ്കെടുത്തു.

MIYA
Dubai’s Project in 2011, "ADHARONOOS SUVOGO"
DUBAI:
Mor Ignatius Youth Association Dubai (MIYA Dubai) successfully
carried out the project, "ADHARONOOS SUVOGO" by financially
helping 10 poor girls belonging to ten Dioceses of Syrian Orthodox
Church in Kerala for their marriage. The project was named and
inaugurated by HG Mor Milithios Yuhanon, the Patriarchal Vicar of
Mor Ignatius Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Cathedral,Dubai for the years
2008-2011. MIYA Dubai donated INR 125,000 to each girl recommended
by the respective Diocese Metropolitans. MIYA Dubai is thankful to
the Lord Almighty, the Metropolitans, the priests, the Vicar, the
Managing Committee, MIWA and other spiritual arms of Mor Ignatius
Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Cathedral Dubai and all those who have
supported to make this project a success.
Sunday School teachers' Meet held at Poothamkutty
POOTHAMKUTTY/ANGAMALY:
Ahead of the commencement of new academic year, a
meeting of the Sunday School Teachers was held at the St.Mary’s
JSO
Christian Church, Poothamkutty on Sunday, the 8th
January, 2012 soon after the Holy Qurbana. The Meeting was chaired
by the Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal. Mr. Eldho, the Headmaster
of the St.Mary’s Sunday school made the welcome address highlighting
the merits and demerits of the previous year. In his key-note
address, Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal emphasized the urgency of new
pedagogical methods which will enable the Sunday school children
accumulate a profound understanding about the basic tenets of
Christian education as well as the ethical and praxis implications
of the holy Bible. He congratulated all the teachers who efficiently
rendered their talents, health and valuable time for the spiritual
budding of the children at large. An assessment was held over the
multi-faced activities implemented for the spiritual upliftment of
the children last year and new creative programmes also chalked out
for the New Year.Discussions
on new approaches to children to enrich them in spiritual sphere
were held in the meeting. All teachers attended the meeting with
keen interest and vigour. Meritorious children (toppers) were
honoured with trophies and prizes. Meeting ended with prayer.

കോറെപ്പിസ്കോപ്പയെ നടമേല് പള്ളിക്കുവേണ്ടി അനുമോദിക്കും. 11.30
മുതല് നേര്ച്ചസദ്യ. വൈകിട്ട് 6ന് സന്ധ്യാനമസ്കാരം രാത്രി 7ന്
പഴയ ബസ്റ്റാന്റിലെ കുരിശിന് തൊട്ടിയിലേക്ക് പ്രദക്ഷിണം.

new year-"MAULODO-2012" AT St.Peter's JSO Cathedral, New Delhi. Wife
of honorable minister Sh. Mullapalli Ramachandran, Mrs. Usha Ramachandran
was the chief guest. Rev. Fr. Roji Mathew deliverd the christmas
message. Cultural programmes by different parishes, honoring of
elder vanita samajam members, auction, tasty Kerala food mela were the

Kuwait St.Mary's JSO Church Celebrated X'mas/New Year
Get-together&Sunday School Anniversary
KUWAIT CITY: St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Church celebrated New
Year/Xmas Get-together and 8th anniversary of the St.
Mary’s Sunday on January 6th at Indian Central School.
The program started withthe prayer song by Sunday school students
and church choir. Vicar, Rev. Fr Biju Kavattu presided over the
meeting. Jt. Secretary Mr. James George welcomed the gathering.
Sunday School Headmaster Mr. Mathai Varghese presented Sunday school
report. Parish members and Sunday school students performed variety
of colorful programs and entertained the gathering. Fr. Biju Kavattu
also inaugurated the updated Parish website (http:www.smjsc.org).
The program ended with Carol songs by the Parish Carol team. Church
trustee Mr. P.P.George Puthussery conveyed vote of thanks.

A warm sent off was given to the former Patriarchal
Vicar for Kuwait H.G. Mathews Mor Theodosius by the
parishioners of St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox
Reesh Church, Kuwait, in a function organized on
Saturday, December 25th at the National
Evangelical Church, Kuwait. Parish Vicar Rev. Fr. Sajan
T. John, Secretary Mr. Johnson Varghese, Trustee Mr.
Jacob John spoke on this occasion. A memento was
presented to Mor Theodocius by the Parish Secretary and
Trustee on behalf of the parishioners. In his return
speech, His Grace praised the various activities
undertaken by the Parish and its spiritual
organizations. H.G. Mathews Mor Theodocius shepherded
the Syrian Orthodox Churches in Kuwait for 3 years from
2009 – 2011 as Patriarchal Vicar of the Patriarch of
Antioch, His Holiness Ignatius Zakka I. During his
tenure, St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox Reesh
Church achieved tremendous growth in all respects. The
Parish started two service centers in Fahaheel and
Abbassiya in addition to the main service at the
National Evangelical Church at Kuwait City. The Parish
conducts Holy Qurbana on 4 days per week – on Friday
morning at NECK Church, Monday evening at NECK Hall of
Faith, Saturday at Manguf New Auditorium (Fahaheel) and
on Wednesday at St. Peter’s Marthoma Church Hall,
Abbassiya.

WCC General Secretary nominates Mor Coorilos on the Drafting Group
on Unity Statement.
GENEEVA: Rev. Dr. Olav Tveit, the General Secretary of the World
Council of Churches has nominated Geevarghese Mor Coorilos,
Metropolitan of Niranam diocese, to be on the WCC Drafting Group for
Busan Assembly Unity Statement. The drafting group consists of ten
selected theologians and church leaders from various parts of the
world. The first of the three envisaged meetings of the drafting
group will meet in Geneva next week to discuss the framework of the
Statement. Ms. Natasha Klukach, Executive Secretary for Ecumenical
Relations of WCC is the coordinator of the Drafting Group. As
moderator of the CWME, Mor Coorilos is also leading the drafting of
the new WCC Statement on Mission and Evangelism. These Statemnsts
will be presented to the WCC General Assembly, to be held next year
in Seoul, South Korea.

ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും. തുടര്ന്ന് ഭദ്രാസന മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്ത ക്രിസ്മസ്
ന്യൂ ഇയര് സന്ദേശവും നല്കും.
വൈകിട്ട് ആറിന് സന്ധ്യാപ്രാര്ത്ഥന, 6.30ന് ഗാനശുശ്രൂഷ, 7.30ന്
വചനശുശ്രൂഷ, 9ന് സമാപനഗാനം തുടങ്ങിയ സമയ ക്രമത്തിലാണ് കണ്വന്ഷന്
നടത്തപ്പെടുക. കൂടാതെ 6, 7, 8 തീയതികളില് രണ്ടുമുതല് ഭക്തസംഘടനകളുടേയും
കുടുംബയൂണിറ്റ് ഭാരവാഹികളുടേയും സംഗമവും നടക്കും.

ദേവാലയത്തില് ആഘോഷിച്ചു. തിരുജനന പെരുന്നാള് ശുശ്രൂഷകള് 25-ന്
രാവിലെ 7.30ന് ആരംഭിച്ചു. ഇടവക വികാരി റവ.ഫാ. വര്ഗീസ് പോള്
മുഖ്യകാര്മികനായിരുന്നു.
തിരുജനനത്തിലൂടെ മാനവരാശിക്ക് കൈവന്ന പുത്തന് ഉണര്വ്വും
പ്രതീക്ഷകളും നമ്മുടെ ജീവിതത്തില് സ്വീകരിക്കുവാന്
തയാറാകുമ്പോഴാണ് ക്രിസ്മസ് ആഘോഷങ്ങള് പൂര്ണമാകുന്നതെന്ന്
റവ.ഫാ. വര്ഗീസ് പോള് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു. ആരാധനാ മധ്യേ ക്രിസ്മസ്
സന്ദേശം നല്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.
തുടര്ന്ന് നടന്ന ആഘോഷപരിപാടികള്ക്ക് കോര്ഡിനേറ്റര് അഡ്വ. ജോജി
കാവനാല് നേതൃത്വം നല്കി. ഇടവക സെക്രട്ടറി പി.കെ. ജേക്കബ് ഏവര്ക്കും
ക്രിസ്മസ് മംഗളാശംസകള് നേരുകയും കലാവിരുന്നുകളിലേക്ക് ഏവരേയും
ഔദ്യോഗികമായി സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഇടവകയിലെ കലാപ്രതിഭകള്
ഒരുക്കിയ വിവിധ കലാപരിപാടികള് ആഘോഷങ്ങള്ക്ക് വര്ണ്ണപ്പൊലിമ നല്കി.
`ബോണ് ഓഫ് എ വിര്ജിന്' എന്ന എന്ന സ്കിറ്റ് ഉന്നത നിലവാരം
പുലര്ത്തി. നോബി പോള് നേതൃത്വം നല്കി ഇടവക ഗായകസംഘം ആലപിച്ച
ക്രിസ്മസ് കരോള് ഗാനങ്ങള് ഹൃദ്യമായി. `എന്റെ ക്രിസ്മസ്' എന്ന
വിഷയത്തെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി കുമാരി മേഘാ മാത്യു നല്കിയ ലഘു സന്ദേശം
ക്രിസ്മസിനെക്കുറിച്ച് യുവജനങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ള കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകളും,
പ്രതീക്ഷകളും പകരുന്നതായിരുന്നു. സണ്ഡേ സ്കൂള് കുട്ടികളുടെ
ക്രിസ്മസ് ഗാനങ്ങളും ആകര്ഷകമായിരുന്നു.

Their Graces Mor Julius Elias (Gabriel Ramban), Mor
Alexandrios Thomas (Barsoumo ramban/Thomas
Nerianthara Kassesso) & Mor Polycarpus Zacharias (Shemavun
Ramban/Scaria Kochillom Kassesso) consecrated as
metropolitans today at Puthencuriz Cathedral.
PUTHENCURIZ: Syriac Orthodox Church in India is
blessed with three more Metropolitans. His Beatitude
Catholicos of India, Dr. Baselios Thomas I
consecrated Mor Julius Elias (Gabriel Ramban), Mor
Alexandrios Thomas (Thomas Nerianthara Kassisso) &
Mor Polycarpus Zacharias (Scaria Kochillom Kassisso)
today at St. Athanasius Catholicate Cathedral,
Puthencuriz. All Metropolitans of Syriac Orthodox
Church in India and Metropolitans from Sister
Churches assisted His Beatitude. A public meeting
was held at the cathedral premises soon after the
consecration to honour newly consecrated
metropolitans. His Grace Dr. Joseph Marthoma
Metropolitan (Marthoma Syrian Church) was the chief
guest.

will be the chief celebrant, assisted by all bishops

will be consecrated as Metropolitan of the Holy
Church at Damascus on 15 January 2011 by His
Holiness the Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I

Yaqu`b visits St. George JSO Church, Faridabad
FARIDABAD: Mor Anthonios
Yaqu`b, Metropolitan of Mangalore Diocese & Honnavar Mission visited St. George Jacobite Syrian
Orthodox Church, Faridabad recently. It was Bishops
first visit to the church. Vicar Fr. Jijan Abraham, church
managing committee members and large number of faiths gathered
to receive Mor Anthonios. After the reception retreat and a Love feast
were
arranged.
