ANGAMALY:
Preparatory retreat held at St. Mary’s Soonoro Cathedral, Angamaly
on Sunday, the 12 th February, 2012 ahead of the Angamaly region
Grand Bible Convention which is scheduled to be held from 26th
February to 4th March. Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal, Regional Director
for the Youth Mission led the retreat highlighting missionary
aspects of the Syrian Church in the light of Holy Scripture.
Convener V.Rev. Varghese Areekal Cor- episcopo presided over the
meeting. Priests from the Angamaly region attended. The retreat was
intended for merchants, office-goers, teachers, directors of various
corporate institutions, bank employees, pensioners and so on.
Secretary Mr.T.M. Varghese, Rev. Fr. Paulose Arackaparambil, Mr.
Pauly, president of the merchant association, Angamaly spoke on the
occasion. Light refreshment was also arranged for all.

Protest meeting

Yesterday evening a
protest meeting held at Kavumbagam St. George Jacobite Syrian
Cathedral on the attack on Manjinikkara Pilgrimage near Parumala on
10 February and today’s incidents at Kattapuram Church Cemetery.
Niranam diocese metropolitan Mor Coorilose Geevarghese, Metropolitan
for the Dayroyo institutions in India Mor Barnabas Geevarghese and
newly ordained metropolitan Mor Polycorpus Zacharias protested
strongly and asked the government to take certian action against the
culprits. Diocese metropolitan Mor Coorilose also said that the
necessary actions for the completion of the Parumala Project will be
accomplished immediately.

One Day Seminar
for School & College Going Students conducted at Bhopal St.
Thomas JSOC.
BHOPAL: St
Thomas JSO Church Bhopal conducted a day long seminar on
07/02/12 for school & College going students of the parish. The
aim of the seminar was to prepare the students to face the
examination. In the era of tough competition, the students have
great pressure both mentally and emotionally. Fr. Eldo John
Chemmikkattu inaugurated the event and expressed his thoughts by
saying that seminar like this helps the young ones to prepare
themselves by surrendering to the will of God and believing in
ones hard work. Mrs Susan S Paul conducted the Seminar. She
guided the students through several case studies and biblical
quotations.

The Annual Clergy Retreat started at 6:00PM on Thursday,
February 9, 2012 at our St. Mary’s Syrian Orthodox Church,
Carrollton, Texas. The Clergy Retreat is being led by His
Eminence Mor Titus Yeldho, the Archbishop & Patriarchal Vicar of
the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church in North

attendance at the retreat.

Malankara Syrian Orthodox Theological Seminary celebrates the
birthday of its Resident Metropolitan Dr. Mor Theophilos
Kuriakose Newly consecrated Metropolitan Dr. Mor Anthimos Mathews
accorded a warm reception at Seminary
MULANTHURUTHY: It was a night of
prayers, praise, songs and blessings for the seminary. Seminary
recognized the milestones of Dr. Mor Theophilos Kuriakose,
Resident Metropolitan of the seminary, on his birthday and
lauded his efforts for the Seminary and church. Seminary family
greeted Dr. Theophilos all the best and success in all his
endeavors and prayers for his continued good health and wisdom.
A warm and cordial
welcome was accorded to newly consecrated bishop Dr. Mor
Anthimos Mathews at Seminary. Dr. Anthimos was received by
Resident metropolitan, Principal, Faculty, Students, Sisters &
Staffs. On behalf of seminary Dr. Mor Theophilos metropolitan
relayed congratulations and wishes for a long and blessed
service to the new metropolitan. Mor Anthimos was the former
warden of the seminary. The presence of Cor Episcopa Sabri Sahin
and his family from Germany made the occasion very special.
Jesus Christ is the greatest revolutionary and
liberator in human history, says Dr. Mor Coorilos Geevarghese
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: While
controversies are going on about the photo of Lord Jesus Christ
kept in the exhibition organized by CPI(M) here as a part of its
20th State Conference, the renowned Liberation Theologian Dr.
Mor Coorilos Geevarghese of Niranam, Thrivananthapuram & Sharjah
Dioceses, patted the party for showing reverence to Christ
as 'the greatest revolutionary and liberator in human history.
"There is nothing wrong in what CPI (M) has done. I am a
Christian who believes that Christ has been the greatest
revolutionary in history", said Dr. Coorilos after visiting the
exhibition. "If Christ's picture was not there, the list of
liberators would not have been complete. The controversy over
this has no relevance," Dr. Coorilos said. The Metropolitan said
he believed Kerala society is mature enough to understand this
and concede there is nothing wrong at the way exhibition
organizers looked at Christ.
Fr. Anish T Varghese, Vicar of St. Peter's
JSO Simhasana Cathedral accompanied Dr. Mor Coorilos. CPI(M)

വിവാദങ്ങള്ക്ക് പിന്നില് ക്രിസ്ത്യാനിയെ അറിയാത്ത പള്ളി സ്നേഹികള്:

പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവ് വി എസ് അച്യുതാനന്ദന്. സിപിഎം സംസ്ഥാന
സമ്മേളനത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള സെമിനാറില് സംസാരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.
യേശുവിന്റെ പോസ്റ്റര് വച്ചത് പാര്ട്ടി പ്രചാരണത്തിനല്ല. യേശു
വ്യവസ്ഥയെ വെല്ലുവിളിച്ച വിമോചന നായകനാണ് .
എന്നാല് നഴ്സുമാര്ക്ക്
ശംബളം നിഷേധിക്കുന്ന ആശുപത്രികളും സ്വാശ്രയ കോളജുകളുമാണ് ചിലര്ക്ക്
മതം. യേശുവിനെയും ക്രിസ്ത്യാനിയെയും അറിയാത്ത പള്ളി സ്നേഹികളാണ്
വിവാദങ്ങള്ക്ക് പിന്നില്. മതത്തെയല്ല, മതമൗലികവാദത്തെയാണ് തങ്ങള്
എതിര്ക്കുന്നതെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു . ദാവൂദ് ഇബ്രാഹിമുമായി
ബന്ധമുള്ള വെറുക്കപ്പെട്ടര് കേരളത്തിലുണ്ടെന്ന് എന്ഐഎക്ക് വിവരം
ലഭിച്ചതായി വാര്ത്തകളുണ്ട് . അന്വേഷിച്ച് സത്യം കണ്ടെത്തണം. യുഡിഎഫ്
വര്ഗീയ സാമുദായി ശക്തികളെ പ്രീണിപ്പിക്കുന്നതായി അദ്ദേഹം ആരോപിച്ചു.

കണ്യാട്ടുനിരപ്പ് സെന്റ് ജോണ്സ് പള്ളിയിലുണ്ടായതായ പോലീസ് അതിക്രമത്തെ
സംബന്ധിച്ച് നടത്തുന്നതായ പ്രചാരണങ്ങള് സത്യത്തിനും നീതിക്കും
നിരക്കാത്തതാണ് എന്ന് പുത്തന്കുരിശില് ചേര്ന്ന വിശ്വാസ സംരക്ഷണ സമിതി
കേന്ദ്രകമ്മിറ്റിയോഗം ആരോപിച്ചു. ജനവരി ഒന്നിന് ആരാധനയ്ക്കായി എത്തിയ
യാക്കോബായ സുറിയാനി സഭാ വിശ്വാസികളെ പോലീസാണ് മര്ദിച്ചത്. എന്നാല് ആ
മര്ദനത്തിന്റെ ഭീകരത മറയ്ക്കുവാന് പോലീസിനെ മര്ദിച്ചു എന്ന്
പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ്. പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയ്ക്കെത്തിയ വിശ്വാസികള്ക്കെതിരെ
അനാവശ്യമായ വകുപ്പുകള് ചേര്ത്ത് പോലീസ് കേസുകള് എടുത്തിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
നിഷ്പക്ഷമായ അന്വേഷണം ഉണ്ടാകണമെന്ന് സഭ ആവര്ത്തിച്ച് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടും
ഗവണ്മെന്റ് നടപടികള് കൈക്കൊണ്ടിട്ടില്ല. യോഗത്തില് ശ്രേഷ്ഠകാതോലിക്കാ

Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal, the Vicar of
St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Church, Poothamkutty hoisted perunal
flag for the Feast of Manjanikkara Bava. As part of First
Saturday observation, Holy Qurbono was offered on Saturday, the
4th February 2012 at 8.15 am followed by special mediatory
prayer to St. Mary, the Mother of God, Nercha distribution and
flag hoisting. In the evening, after sandhyaprarthana
at.6.30, Manjanikkara Bava Memorial talk was held. On Sunday,
the 5th February Perunal Qurbono will be held at 8.15 am. Fr.
Alias Ipe Parackal will be the chief officiate. Patriarchal flag
will be hoisted by the Vicar after the Holy Qurbono, marking the
beginning of Patriarchal Day celebrations.

സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള മോര് ഇഗ്നാത്തിയോസ് ബാവയുടെ തിരുശേഷിപ്പ് കബറിങ്കല്
നിന്നുമാണ് ദീപശിഖ തെളിക്കുന്നത്. മലബാര് ഭാഗത്ത് നിന്നും എത്തുന്ന
തീര്ത്ഥാടകരും അങ്കമാലി മേഖലയിലെ വിവിധ പള്ളികളില് നിന്നുമുള്ള തീര്ത്ഥാടകരും
പ്രധാന തീര്ത്ഥയാത്രയോടൊപ്പം ചേര്ന്ന് ഒന്നായി യാത്രതുടരും. പ്രത്യേകം
തയ്യാറാക്കിയ രഥത്തിന് പിന്നിലായി പ്രാര്ത്ഥനാ ഗീതങ്ങള് ആലപിച്ചാണ്
വിശ്വാസികള് നടന്നുനീങ്ങുക. അങ്കമാലി, വേങ്ങൂര്, മറ്റൂര്, വല്ലം,
പെരുമ്പാവൂര് തുടങ്ങിയ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലെ സ്വീകരണങ്ങള്ക്ക് ശേഷം തീര്ത്ഥാടകര്
പള്ളിയില് വിശ്രമിക്കും. തുടര്ന്ന് കീഴില്ലം, മണ്ണൂര്, മൂവാറ്റുപുഴ,
കൂത്താട്ടുകുളം, ചോരക്കുഴി, ഏറ്റുമാനൂര്, നീലിമംഗലം, കോട്ടയം,
തിരുവല്ല, പത്തനംതിട്ട, ആറന്മുള കൂടി 10ന് വൈകീട്ട് തീര്ത്ഥയാത്ര
മഞ്ഞനിക്കരയിലെത്തിച്ചേരു. പരിശുദ്ധ സഖാ പ്രഥമന് പാത്രിയര്ക്കീസ്
ബാവയുടെ പ്രതിനിധികളായ മോര് പീലക്സിനോസ് മത്തിയാസ് നയീസ്, ബെയ്റൂട്ട്

സ്കൂള്, കുടുംബ യൂണിറ്റുകള് തുടങ്ങിയ ഭക്തസംഘടനകളുടെ
സംയുക്ത വാര്ഷികവും ഇതോടൊപ്പം നടക്കും.ഓമല്ലൂര്
ബാവയെന്ന പേരില് വിശ്വാസികളുടെ ഇടയില് പ്രസിദ്ധനായ പരിശുദ്ധ
ഇഗ്നാത്തിയോസ് ഏലിയാസ് തൃതീയന് പാത്രിയാര്ക്കീസ് ബാവ 1931
മാര്ച്ചിലാണ് മലങ്കരയിലെത്തിയത്. അടുത്ത വര്ഷം ഫിബ്രവരി 13ന്
ബാവ കാലം ചെയ്തു. കാലംചെയ്തതിന്റെ നാല്പതാം ദിവസം ചടങ്ങുകളില്
പങ്കെടുക്കാന് മണീടില്നിന്നും ഏഴംഗ സംഘം കാല്നടയായി
സഞ്ചരിച്ച് മഞ്ഞനിക്കരയിലെത്തിയിരുന്നു. അന്നത്തെ ആ കാല്നടയാത്രയുടെ
പിന്തുടര്ച്ചയാണ് മഞ്ഞനിക്കര തീര്ഥയാത്ര.കാലം ചെയ്ത ബാവയുടെ
തിരുശേഷിപ്പ് സ്ഥാപിച്ച മണീട് സെന്റ് കുര്യാക്കോസ് പള്ളിയെ
പാത്രിയാര്ക്കീസ് ബാവ കത്തീഡ്രലായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. ഫിബ്രവരി
നാല്, അഞ്ച്, ആറ്, ഏഴ് തീയതികളിലാണ് ഇവിടെ പ്രധാന
പെരുന്നാള്.പെരുന്നാളിന് ശനിയാഴ്ച രാവിലെ ഒന്പതിന് വികാരി
സ്ലീബ പോള് കോറെപ്പിസ്കോപ്പ കൊടി ഉയര്ത്തും. വൈകീട്ട് ഏഴിന്
ഭക്തസംഘടനകളുടെ സംയുക്ത വാര്ഷികയോഗത്തില് സ്ലീബ പോള്
കോറെപ്പിസ്കോപ്പയെ അനുമോദിക്കും.ഫിബ്രവരി അഞ്ചിന് രാവിലെ കുര്ബാന.

അസുരഗോളങ്ങള് എന്നിവയുണ്ട്.ആറിന് രാവിലെ എട്ടിന് കുര്ബാനയും
വൈകീട്ട് ഏഴിന് പ്രദക്ഷിണവും.പ്രധാന പെരുന്നാളായ ഏഴിന് രാവിലെ
8.30ന് നടക്കുന്ന അഞ്ചിന്മേല് കുര്ബാനയ്ക്ക് ശ്രേഷ്ഠ
കാതോലിക്ക ബസേലിയോസ് തോമസ് പ്രഥമന് ബാവ കാര്മികത്വം നല്കും.

2.45 ആനമുന്തി കുരിശിങ്കലേക്കുള്ള പ്രദക്ഷിണവും മഞ്ഞനിക്കര തീര്ഥയാത്രയും

ആശീര്വദിച്ച് നല്കി തീര്ഥാടകരെ യാത്രയാക്കും.

ICHILAMPADY,
KARNATAKA: St. Simons JSO church Ichilampady of
south Karnataka celebrated its silver
jubilee. It was the closing ceremony of one year jubilee
programes. During this occasion parish honored its former
priest, elders of the church, Their Graces bishops and jubilant parish priest
Rev. Fr. P. K. Abraham. H.G Dr. Geevarghes Mor Dionysius (Malankara
Catholic church, Puthoore Diocese), Metropolitans Their Graces Mor
Chrisostomos Markose (EAE), Mor Irenios Paulose (Kozhikode,
Australia & New Zealand Dioceses) & Mor Anthonios Ya`qub
(Mangalore, Honnavar Dioceses) were the
chief guests. Delegates of EAE and Honnavar Mission, political, social leaders, priests of sister churches, a
large number faithful gathered for this occasion.

SCMI Centenary Thanks Giving Service and Public Lecture Held in
Serampore
KOLKATA: The
Centenary celebrations of the Student Christian Movement of India
were held on Saturday, the 28th of January 2012 at Serampore
College, Kolkatta where the SCMI was born in 1912. The celebrations
began with a session of experience sharing by senior friends of SCM.
This was followed by a centenary thanks giving service led by Mor
Coorilos Geevarghese, chairperson of SCMI. Dr. Monica Melanchton,
Professor at Gurukul theological college, Chennai delivered the
sermon during the service. In the afternoon, Dr. Ruth Manorama,
noted Dalit Woman Activist and winner of Alternate Nobel Prize
delivered the Centenary talk. The Centenary T-Shirts and Music CD
were officially launched during the program. The program was
attended by hundreds of students, senior friends, staff, and the
Serampore theological community. The celebrations will culminate in
Bangalore with a Students Social Forum in October this year. Rev.
Raj Bharat Patta, SCMI General Secretary and Mr. Shibi Peter,
National coordinator of SCMI Centenary Program and other staff
colleagues gave leadership to the programs.
