മെത്രാപ്പോലിത്ത ചോദിച്ചു.
ഹിത പരിശോധന എന്ന് പറയുമ്പോള് പാക്കിസ്ഥാനെക്കുറിച്ച്,
കാശ്മീരിനെക്കുറിച്ചും പറയുന്ന മെത്രാന് കക്ഷികളെ തീവ്രവാദികളുടെ
കൂട്ടത്തില് പെടുത്താനെ കഴിയൂ.

BANGALORE: Bangalore diocese Metropolitan H.G
Osthatheos Pathrose, unveiled the Family conference (BEZALEL -2011)
Logo on Sunday, 23rd October, 2011, at St. Mary's Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Cathedral, Queens
Road after the Holy Qurbana. This year’s family conference will
be held on 19th November 2011 from 9 am to 5 pm at Mor
Basalios Nagar in T.John college campus, Bennargatta Road , with
various activities. The theme for the family conference is “Come let
us celebrate our salvation – Luke 19 : 9&10”. Various committee
headed by Priests, Council members and church representatives are
putting together a detailed plan for the successful execution of the
family conference this year. All Jacobite Syrian congregations in
Bangalore will gather for this family conference and eminent
personalities will handle classes for various groups.
MJSSA Kollam Diocese Balakalotsavam held
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Diocesan Level Sunday School competition
of Kollam diocese was held at St Ignatius Jacobite Syrian Orthodox
Church , Chakkuvarakkal. Competitions were held for students and
teachers. The competitions were held under the guidance of MJSSA
Kollam Director Rev. Fr. Sabu Samuel. Students from different parts
of the diocese participated in the competitions . St Peters Jacobite
Syrian Orthodox Simhasana Cathedral, Thiruvananthapuram scored the
highest points and won the Everrolling trophy. St Mary's Jacobite
Syrian Orthodox Church, Kattachira came second. The prize for
individual highest score was won by Master Alan Kurian Sabu. V. Rev.
Stephen Coriepiscopa, Rev. Fr. Geevarghese Blahethu, Rev. Fr.
Punnose Tharakan, Rev. Fr. Roy George Kattachira, Rev. Fr. Abraham
Nallila and Rev. Dn. Joseph Stephen were present for the programme.
Rev. Dn.Eldho, Rev. Dn. Rijo and Rev. Dn. Robin were the judges for
the competitions.

Yeldho Metropolitan, the Archbishop and Patriarchal Vicar of the
Malankara Archdiocese will be the Chief Celebrant of the Holy
Ordination Ceremony. Venerable Corepiscopos, Respected Priests,
Deacons,Spiritual Organization leaders, Archdiocesan Council
members and hundreds of faithful from various regions of
Archdiocese are expected to attend the Holy Ceremony, which will
be the first one in the history of Parish. Arrangements are
being done under the leadership of parish officials for the

KUWAIT: H. G Mor Osthatheos Issac
was accorded a very warm welcome at Kuwait International Airport on
Tuesday, October 18, 2011, by the Vicars of St. George Universal
Syrian Orthodox Reesh Church (Valiya Pally) and St. Mary’s Jacobite
Syrian Church, Rev. Fr. Sajan T. John and Rev. Fr. Biju Kavatt
respectively, Managing Committee members and a number of faithful
from both the parishes. Mor Osthatheos is on his first visit to
Kuwait after assuming charges as Patriarchal Vicar for the Syrian
Orthodox Jacobite Churches in Kuwait, at the invitation of St.

which will be held at Integrated Indian School on Friday, October
28, 2011.

School "Balakalolsavam" Concluded at St Thomas JSO Church., Bhopal.
BHOPAL : The Sunday School "Balakalolsavam"
was held on 16/10/11 Sunday after The Holy Mass. The Sunday School
Students of the Parish participated in various events like Solo
Song, Group Song, Bible Reading, Bible Quick Reading, Quick Bible
verses writing & Speech etc. The Jury members for the song
competitions were Mr George Daniel, the Choir Master of Bethel
Marthoma Church, Bhopal & Mr James, the Music Teacher of Carmel
convent Senior Higher Secondary School Bhopal. Fr Eldo John
Chemmikkatu and Mrs Susan Paul were judges for the Speech
Competition and other events. The program ended with a love-feast at
3.30 PM

Sabor Mor Afroth Simhasana Valiyapally Thuruthissery.
ANKAMALY: Under the auspices of
newly built Thuruthissery JSO Simhasana Valiyapally, a Souvenir is
being published incorporating all historical and church related
documents. The Souvenir will serve as a handbook for knowing the
important role of Simhasana Valiyapally in the History of Jacobite
Syrian Christian Church as a whole. The All Malankara
Representatives Meet held on 26th December 1975 and the meticulous
preparations for convening such a gargantuan meeting, defending the
sturdy attacks of the Indian Orthodox Group, construction of the
temporary chapel and the consecration of late lamented Samuel Mor
Philexinos Metropolitan will be the crux of the Souvenir in addition
to the historical descriptions of the Simhasanapally till date
including the reconstruction Work. Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal, the
Vicar of the Simhasanavaliyapally is the Editor. Mr. P. I. Varghese
and Chev. Kunjumon Parackal are the Convener and General Convener
for the task. A Souvenir Committee comprised of 20 members has been
formed.

Samuel has been elected to the Board of Directors , YMCA
Thiruvananthapuram. YMCA Thiruvananthapuram was the second YMCA
started in India in 1873. Jacobite Church is being represented in
the YMCA Thiruvananthapuram branch after a gap of many years. Deacon
will hold the post for a term of three years in the supreme
governing body of this prestigious YMCA. Dn. Dr. Paul is also
holding the post of Secretary in the Society of Thiruvananthapuram
ENT Surgeons and as Joint Secretary in Indian Medical Association,
Thiruvananthapuram Branch. He is also serving as a resource person
for the Pre-marital Counselling course of Kollam Diocese and also in
the family apostolate of Malankara Catholic Church and Syro-Malabar
Changanacherry Diocese. He is currently working as a Consultant ENT
Surgeon in Thiruvananthapuram.

Kuwait: 38th Parish Day of St. George
Universal Syrian Orthodox Reesh Church was celebrated at National
Evangelical Church of Kuwait (NECK) on Friday, 7th Oct..
Rev. Fr. Sajan T. John, the Parish Vicar, presided over the public
meeting. The program was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Roy George of
Kattachira Global Marian Pilgrim Center. Rev. Thomas Koshy
Panachimoottil of Salmiya St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church gave the
parish day message. Rev. Fr. C. Kurien of St. Peter’s Knanaya Syrian
Church, Rev. Fr. Biju Kavatt of St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Church
and Mr. Jacob John, the Parish Trustee, gave felicitations. Mr.
Johnson Varghese, the Parish Secretary, welcomed the gathering and
Mr. Rajan K. Kurien, the Program Convener, proposed vote of thanks.
Master David Mathew Kochakkan and Master Nikhil Sephy Alex were
honored in the meeting with trophies for being toppers among
parishioners in Academic Grade X and XII respectively. The public
meeting was followed by a Cultural program session with variety
programs displayed by children and elders. A large number of
parishioners actively participated in the programs.

by giving a copy of the book to Poulose Thottathil, the trustee of
St.Eldho Mor Baselious Jacobite Church, Cheeyambam.
Fr:Poulose Cor-Episcoppa Narakathuputhanpurayil, a parish member of
the St.George Jacobite Simhasana Chathedral, Pulpally is the author
of the book. At present he is the vicar of two churches namely
St.Gregorios Abdul Jaleel Jacobite church, Anjukunnu and St.George
Jacobite church, Puthussery kadav. He was ordained as a deacon by
the present Catholicos H.B Baselios Thomas I and ordained as a
priest by the late H.G Mor Gregorius Gheevarghese (Perumpilly
Thirumeni) The book reveals the authentic presentation of the
subject matter. The lucid and simple style increases the
readability of the book. The book deals with the Holy Bible, Holy
Church and Holy Sacraments. The book is highly useful for the
faithful.

offered time to conduct their services tomorrow, a
section of "Metran kakshi" in Puthencruz walked out of
talks with the district administration. Majority of
"metran kakshis" in Puthencruz are willing to go for a
negotiated settlement, but a section owing allegiance to
devalokam want to prolong the issues. A part of "metran
kakshis" have already joined with us and had come for
the holy mass, the day after the judgment. Since
devalokam leadership is not going for a settlement, more
members of "metran kakshi" are expected to join with
Jacobite church.

attended the Holy Service. On Saturday morning V.Rev.Issac Paily
Corepiscopo, the Vicar of St.Johns Parish received Archbishop to

Enshrinement of Holy relics of St. Gregorious of Malankara at
Kolkatta Parish.
Arrangements for
the Enshrinement of the Holy Relics of St. Greegorious of Malankara
(Parumala Thirumeni) is in advanced stage in the St. Mary's Jacobite
Syrian Orthodox Church, 64-H, Linton Street, Kolkata-700 014 to be
held on 5th & 6th of November 2011 by H B Baselious Thomas I, the
Catholicos of the East. In addition to the visit of our Holy Father,
two of our most respected Bishops, viz. His Grace Mathews Mor Aprem
and His Grace Paulose Mor Ireneous would also be present in the
Parish on the solemn occasion as co-celebrants.
The Enshrinement of the Holy Relics in the evening on Saturday, the
5th November, 2011 will be followed by a Tri-Alter Holy Qurbono on
Sunday, the 6th November 2011 at 7.30 AM.
All the believers who reside in and around the City of Kolkata are
requested to keep the above dates free to attend the programme so
that they will also be blessed by the Parumala Thirumeni. Likewise
the Jacobites who would be visiting Kolkata during that period
please may get in touch with the Parish over telephone No. (033)

trying to get in touch with all those who were members of the Parish
but had to leave the city for various reasons individually , they

EXCEL- 2011` for high school & college students on 5th October (Pooja

9th Oct 2011 : The
inaugural ceremony for the Youth Sunday classes on Faith, tradition
and Liturgy was held on 9th Oct 2011 in the presence of H.G Patros
Mor Osthathios, Very. Rev Fr.K.V Kuriakose Core Episcopa & Rev
Fr.Jacob Joseph and Deacon Aji. The inauguration was coupled with
the onam celebration after the holy mass which started at 8:45AM.
Sunday school students threw flowers on the way and Thirumeni was
greeted with a garland following which the welcome speech was
delivered by the Youth secretary Tony Mathai .Fr.Jacob Joseph gave a
briefing about the intention of conducting the seminars. Youth
representative Geedhu handed over a bouquet to welcome Thirumeni.
Thirumeni, Velyachan and Saji achan lit the lamp and thirumeni
inaugurated the ceremony by revealing the bookmarks that were
printed for this purpose. The bookmarks were distributed to all
those who were present for the ceremony.
This was followed by the Onam celebration which was conducted in the
Parish hall. Onam celebration started of with a few entertaining
games conducted by Youth association members Shiju and Basil. Kids
were entertained with “Bursting the balloons” and “Musical chair”
and Sunday school student Alan was the winner for both the events.
Members of St.Marys league took part in the “Musical chair”
competition and Jhansy Roby was the winner. The final event was a
very refreshing and entertaining event held for couples wherein
husband was blindfolded and asked to apply makeup for his wife. Roby
and Jhansy emerged victorious.
By 12:30 the hall was set up for lunch and the prize distribution
for winners took place simultaneously. The program came to an end by
1:30pm and all of them returned home with filled tummies and happy
faces.

Justice Beurkhath Ali ordered in favour of Jacobite
Syrian Orthodox church in the case filed by Indian
Orthodox group for implementing 1934 at Puthencruz St.
Peter's and St. Paul's JSO church. Court handled over
the full ownership of this parish to JSOC. Court also
commented that constitution of 1934 is not applicable to
the administration of parish churches in Malankara and
removed the status- co in that parish and handed over
the church to Jacobite Syrian Orthodox church.

the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Vice president of Paurasthya
Suvishesha Samajam (EAE), Vicar General of EAE Churches in Karnataka
and Vicar of St. George Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church
Narasimharajapura - Very. Rev. Cor - Episcopo A V Jacob was
decorated as "Kohano Kasheero" by the Supreme Head of the Syrian
Orthodox Church His Holiness Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas Patriarch.
Born on 8th June 1932 as the eldest son of Shri Varghese and Smt.
Eliyamma of Arakkal family from Mookannoor in Angamaly diocese of
Malankara Church, Very Rev achen's family was one of the first
migrants to the state of Karnataka in the 1940's. After he was
ordained as deacon in 1954, he pursued his priestly formation and
theological studies at Manjanikkara Dayara under late lamented Mor
Yulios Elias of blessed memory. He was ordained as priest in May
1956 by Mor Yulios and appointed as Vicar of St. George JSO Church,
Narasimharajapura in Karnataka. Since then, his life has been one of
dedication towards the Holy Church. Very Rev Achen was instrumental
in the establishment of five churches in Chickmagalore district of
Karnataka state and also played an important role in the missionary
activities of the Paurasthya Suvishesha Samajam (EAE) in Karnataka
and Kerala. Very Rev Achen did not limit himself to the spiritual
upliftment alone of the folk under his pastoral care. He dedicated
himself to the social, educational and economical upliftment of his
folk. Even at this advanced age of 80 years, he can be seen working
enthusiastically towards fulfilling the pastoral responsibilities
given to him.
In recognition of his dedicated service to the Holy Church, he was
elevated as Cor- Episcopo by Late lamented Mor Baselios Paulose II
Catholicose of blessed memory in 1985.
MSV congratulates Very Rev. Cor - Episcopa Achen on being decorated
by His Holiness and pray for his long life and good health.
