Sanctification of St. Peters Chapel Kulanada, under St. Thomas JSO
Church Manthalir was conducted by Diocesean Metropolitan H. G. Mor
Militheos Yuhanon. A warm reception was given to the Metropolitan
and priests of the diocese to the chapel which was closed for the
past 9 years due to the legal suits. The Pathanamthitta Dist. Court
handed over the Chapel and allied properties to the real owners and
ruled that Metran Kakshi has no right over the chapel. On 28th after
sanctification, evening prayers was conducted. On 29th Holy Qurbono
was celebrated by H. G. Mor Milithoes Yuhanon. Ver. Rev Mathews

New Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church in Florance, Italy.
Florance (Italy): A
new Jacobite Syrian Church started in Florance (One of the biggest
and popular city in Italy). The first Syriac Orthodox (Jacobite)
Holy Qurbana in Malayalam was held in Florance. Rev. Fr. Prince
Manathoor was the chief celebrant accompanied by deacons of the
church. Many faithful from several Christian communities all over
Florance attended the Holy Mass. After the Holy Mass, Fr. Prince
Paulose Mannathoor read out the Kalpana from H.G. Theophilose
Kuriakose (Metropolitan & Patriarchal Vicar of Europe) in which he
conveyed the blessings and best wishes to the faithful in Florance.

Diocesan Bishop H.G Mor Thomas Themotheos celebrated Holy Qurbana
and blessed the congregation in St. Mary's Jacobite Syrian Church
Singapore on 25th June. Earlier His Grace was received at the
airport by Vicar Rev. Fr. Saji Nadumuriyil, Rev. Fr. Elias Kuruvilla
Puthuveetil and committee members. His Grace visited Singapore on
his way to Brunei, with the invitation of the Catholic Bishop in
Brunei. His Grace will return to Singapore on Thursday and will
celebrate Holy Qurbana in St. George Jacobite Syrian Church Malaysia
on 3rd July and will return to India on 4th.
JSVBS 2011 Closing Ceremony conducted at United Indian School,
Kuwait.
KUWAIT: The closing
ceremony of Jacobite Syrian Vacation Bible School "JSVBS 2011"
organized by St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox Reesh Church
Sunday School was conducted at United Indian School Auditorium on
Friday, June 24, 2011. The Parish Vicar Rev. Fr. Sajan T. John
presided over the public meeting. The Keynote address was delivered
by the Vicar of the Marthoma Church, Rev. Genil Abraham and the
Felicitations were made by Parish Secretary Mr. Johnson Varghese and
Chev. Prof. Bijou Varghese. Sunday School Head Master Mr. Saju
Kuriakose welcomed the Guests and the gathering and Mrs. Sunila
Kurian proposed the Vote of Thanks. Mrs. Bina Saji as the JSVBS
leader coordinated the activities and Mrs. Beetha Johnson compered
the meeting. The JSVBS students displayed their skills and talents
and what they learnt from JSVBS including songs and skits. Magician
Manoj entertained the audience with a Magic show.
JSVBS 2011 was
conducted at the National Evangelical Church of Kuwait (NECK) at
Kuwait City from June 10 to June 21st. The theme selected this year
for JSVBS is "Abide in Me” (St. John 15: 4). The JSVBS offered a
platform for children to grow with the knowledge of the Word of God.
Children were provided the tools needed to strengthen their faith in
God, and to develop a desire to obey God and grow in His path. All
these activities were set in a delightful environment of fun and
play. The ten days' learning program that included Bible
studies, religious songs, arts, crafts, games and talent shows
catered to children of all ages divided into various groups such as
Beginners, Sub-juniors, Juniors and Seniors.
Cork St. Peter's Syrian Orthodox Church celebrated the Feast of
St.Peter.
IRELAND: St.
Peter's Syrian Orthodox Church Cork, Republic of Ireland celebrated
the Feast of St. Peter on 18th and 19th June 2011. The Festival
ceremonies began with Evening prayer which started at 7.30 PM on
18th . There was also "Nercha " afterwards. The Holy Qurbono was
lead by Rev. Fr. Babu Alias the vicar of the Church. The Holy
Qurbono was followed by Traditional procession and Nercha Sadya.
There was also Auction ("Lelam) in which all the participants took
part with enthusiasm. Hundred of
Syrian Orthodox believers from Cork County of Ireland participated
in the Feast with great faith. Vicar, Rev. Fr. Babu Alias and parish
managing committee lead the festival programs of the 2011.

Newyork: The St.
Peter's and St. Paul's Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church in NewYork
of the Malankara Archdiocese in USA is scheduled to hold the Annual
Feast of the Patron Saints on Saturday and Sunday (July 2 & 3). His

2011, Germany: His Beatitude Catholicose Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas
I, along with Mor Gregorios Joseph, Metropolitan of Kochi Diocese &
Malankara Holy Episcopal Synod Secretary, visited His Holiness
Patrirach Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas in Germany. Holy Father is
on a medical and private visit to Germany. Earlier Mor Theethos
Yeldho, Metropolitan of the Malankara Archdiocese of North America
also visited His Holiness.
On 16th H.B Bava and Rev. Fr. Joby arrived in Zurich Airport in
Swizerland. On 17th H.B Catholicose Baselious Thomas 1st met HH
Patriarch Ignatious Zakka 1st at the hospital. H.B Bava was welcomed
by H.E Philexinose Mathias Nais, Priests & Chorepiscopas. After the
dinner on the same day H.B Bava & team visited St. Ephraim Seminary
at Holland, where H.B was accorded a warm welcome by H.E Mor
Policarpos Augin Aydin (Metrapolitian of Netherlands), Rambans,
Priests, Nuns & deacons. On 18th H.B and delegates from Malankara
went to visit Cicek Thirumeni's tomb.

Hon. District Court handed over Kulanada St. Peters Chapel to the
real owners
MANTHALIR:
The Kulanada St. Peters Chapel and the allied properties of the
Manthalir St. Thomas JSO Church (Thumpamon Diocese) which was under
dispute for the last 9 years was handed over to the real owners by
the order of Hon. District Court Patahanamthitta. The chapel was
opened and cleaned and Dhoopaprarthana was conducted under the
leadership of various priests of Thumpamon diocese. After the
prayers a public meeting was conducted. St. Peters Society President
Shri. A. E. Mathai presided and Vicar Fr. Samson Varghese

Ignatius Abraham awarded Doctorate
JAIPUR: Shri Ignatius Abraham, member of
Mor Gregorios JSO Church, Jaipur is awarded PhD in Chemistry from
University of Rajasthan. He has done his studies under the
supervision of Dr. R T Pardasani. He was working as Senior Research
Fellow (CSIR) in the Dept of Chemistry in the university. The title
of the thesis is “Synthetic and Theoretical Studies on the
Photocycloaddition Reactions of 1,4-Benzoquinones”. Research work
constitutes the areas of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Photochemistry
and computational chemistry. So far he has published 6 research
papers. Dr. Ignatius' home parish is Mor Ignatius Noorono JSO
Simhasana Church, Mekkadampu, Muvattupuzha.
Currently, he serves the
church as the Council Member of Delhi Diocese, Joint Secretary of
Jaipur Church, Organiser of Viswasasamrakshakan. On behalf of Delhi

Rev. Fr. john Mathai celebrating Silver Jubilee of Priesthood.
Fr. John Mathai was
born on 13/05/1956 in a tiny village called Perumpilly (Mulanthuruthy)
had his primary schooling at the village school and secondary
education at St. Ignatius High School, Kanjiramattom. Owing to his
parents occupation he moved on to Bhuj in Gujarat and had graduated
from Gujarat University and obtained post graduation from M.S
University of Baroda and joined College teaching and still remains
in the same vocation.
In 1975 Late Lamented Gheevarghese Mor Gregoris (popularly known as
Perumpilly Thirumeni) ordained as a deacon and on 15/06/1986 as a
priest by His Grace Gregoris at Perumpilly Simhasana Church. Since
then he conducts occasional services at Gandhidham (Kutch) and
Ahmedabad Churches to assist the regular vicars. His parents are P.J.
Mathai & Annamma Mathai, Pulparakuzhiyil House, Perumpilly. (They
are settled in Gujarat for the last 40 years.) He has married
Deleena of Chamakkala family of Mulanthuruthy and has two children
Dijo John & Neha John, who are pursuing studies.

Jamaica: Dr.
Geevarghese Mor Coorilos, Metropolitan of Niranam diocese and
Patriarchal Vicar of U.K represented the Syrian Orthodox Church at
the International Ecumenical Peace Convocation, held in Kingston,
Jamaica from 15-24, 2011. Mor Coorilos made a presentation on
"Eco-Justice" at the Convocation and also was a Bible Study leader.
The IEPC was the culmination of WCC's Decade to overcome Violence (DOV).

Rev. Fr. Reji Mathew awarded as the best outgoing student at "The
Kerala United Theological Seminary"
KANNAMOOLA: Rev.
Fr. Reji Mathew was awarded the Best Outgoing Student at The Kerala
United Theological Seminary, Kannamoola, Trivandrum for the year
2010-11. Fr. Reji also won Dr. David Bhanu memorial prize of
Academic Proficiency (B.Th III), Joseph Jayaputhran Prize of History
of Christianity-BTh III First, Bishop William Memorial Old Testament
Prize for BTh III First and Joshua Sarasam Memorial Prize for
worshio and Preaching for BTh III Second. Gold Medal was presented
at the Commissioning Service held at KUTS by Right Rev. G.
Devakadaksham, Bishop of Kanyakumari Diocese and Deputy Moderator
CSI Church. Fr. Reji belongs to St Mary’s JSC Anjilithanam, Niranom
Diocese. And currently serves at St George Puramattom and St George
Cheppad. He has also secured admission for BD course at KUTS. This
is the first time a member of Jacobite church receives Best Outgoing
Student at KUTS, Trivandrum.
Mangalore Regional MGJSM Meet.
MANGALORE: A
preliminary meeting of the Manglore Regional Unit of MGJSM was
convened under the leadership of Rev. Dn. Thomas Poothicote on
Sunday 29th May 2011. The meeting held at St. Antony's JSO Cathedral
Jappu, Mangalore was presided over by Rev. Fr. Sunny John, Vicar of
the church and was attended by more than 75 students.
The gathering selected Mrs. Abiya Bino, Ms. Seematti Paul, Ms.
Siji Rajan and Mr. Akil Cherian as the regional coordinators.
The President of MGJSM Dr. Theophilose Kuriakose Metropolitan will
be officially inagurating the unit, during the meeting proposed in
July 2011.

Apostolic Nuncio of Syria visits Holy Father
MA`ARAT SAYYIDNAYA, DAMASCUS: Apostolic
Nuncio of Syria, His Excellency Archbishop Dr. Mario Zenari visited
His Holiness Patriarch Ignatius Zakka I Iwas at St. Ephraim's
Patriarchal Monastery at Damascus on May 25, Wednesday. Archbishop
was welcomed at the monastery by Metropolitan Mor Philoxenos
Matthias Nayis, the Patriarchal Assistant. Archbishop Dr. Zenari
discussed the current situations in Syria with Holy Father and
seeked HH's prayers and blessings. Archbishop Dr. Zenari was
appointed as Apostolic Nuncio to Syria on 2008. Prior to this
responsibility, he has worked in varous capacities such as Permanent
Observer of Office of the United Nations and Specialized
Institutions in Vienna, Permanent Observer of United Nations
Industrial Development Organization, Permanent Representative of
International Atomic Energy Agency, Permanent Representative of Holy
See Delegation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in
Europe and Apostolic Nuncio to Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Sri Lanka &

His Beatitude Catholicos Baselios Thomas I inaugurated the annual
camp of Morth Mariyam Samajam at St. Mary's JSO Soonoro Cathedral
here. President of Samajam, Mor Eusebios Kuriakose presided over.

Free Medical camp Conducted at St. Mary's Syrian Orthodox Simhasana
church, Thuruthissery, Angamaly.
ANGAMALY: A free
medical camp has been conducted at Simhasanapally, Thuruthissery
under the auspices of Parish Martha Mariyam vanitha Samajam Unit on
Sunday, the 22nd May 2011. Soon after the Holy Qurbana in the
Morning, Rev.Fr.Alias Ipe, Vicar of the Simhasanapally inaugurated
the Camp. H.G.Athanasius Alias of Antiochean Movement blessed the
Occasion. A medical team headed by Dr.Giji Augustin (Dr.Toney’s
Super Specialty Hospital, Aluva) led the one-day camp. Hundreds of
people attended the Camp which was well- arranged with medical
check- up equipments and free medicine supply at the church
premises. Ms.Jinimol Varghese, Secretary of the Vanitha Samajam, Mr.
Roshan John, President of the Lions Club of Nedumbassery Greater,
Dr.Giji Augustine, and Mrs. Annama Mathew felicitated on the
occasion.
Saju Varghese have been nominated and confirmed as Vice-Chairman of
the YMCA Nizamuddin for the year 2011-12.
